10 Years of Leadership: Spotlight on Our First Partner, Nikki Farhat

At beautiLofts, we believe in the power of entrepreneurship, independence, and building a community where beauty professionals can thrive. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re taking a moment to highlight the incredible individuals who have helped shape beautiLofts into what it is today—starting with our very first partner, Nikki Farhat. In her own words:

Hey, I’m Nikki! I joined Lauren as a partner in beautiLofts in 2017 when we opened the second location in Rochester Hills.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2015, I moved back to Detroit  where I started working at Brigette’s, our family-owned Middle Eastern restaurant. That’s when my dad, a true entrepreneur himself, encouraged me to reach out to Lauren about joining the beautiLofts team. He always believed in the freedom and opportunities that come from working for yourself, and with his advice, I made the leap. Sadly, my father passed before he could see any of this come to fruition, but I’m thankful every day that he pushed me in the right direction.  

Over the next eight years, I helped open and manage several restaurants across the Metro-Detroit area, all while helping open three new beautiLofts locations. I balanced both for a while, but always knew there would come a time where I needed to step away and take advantage of what truly being my own boss had to offer. Three years ago, I made a shift and decided to focus my energy on my family and my business. Since then, I married my husband, Lamar, was blessed with three wonderful step kids, and had my first son, Zayn.  

One of the things that I value the most about is being my own boss is having the freedom and flexibility to set my own hours and manage my work, while still being able to prioritize my family and personal life. It’s a balance that I believe is incredibly important, and it’s one of the reasons I joined beautiLofts in the first place. Not only have I  experienced it personally, but I have been able to encourage and guide the beauty professionals we service to become business owners, too. Witnessing them find that same freedom and flexibility in their careers which allows them to live life on their terms, has been extremely rewarding.

Nikki’s journey is a testament to the power of self-employment and the beauty of creating a career that aligns with your life. Her dedication, business acumen, and unwavering support for other beauty professionals have helped shape beautiLofts into the thriving community it is today.
